Return to the path at the Bramhall bench (Row K on the north
fence). Go south
just past the spire stone and on your left facing away from
you is the William Hinsey family plot.
William W. (Bill) Hinsey was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, son of a
successful physician. He came to California in 1899 and
became assistant manager of a fruit shipping company in
Newcastle. When the Fair Oaks Fruit Association folded
after less than a year in existence, a number of Fair Oaks
businessmen formed the Fair Oaks Fruit Company and
brought Bill Hinsey in as Manager. He successfully
managed the Fruit Company until his death in 1929.
He is buried next to his wife Carrie. His son Ralph is buried
a short distance away and we’ll pass him later in the tour.
