Proceed down the path south to the Beauchamp family plot on your left.
Olliver “Ollie” Beauchamp (pronounced “Beechum”) arrived in the
Fair Oaks area in 1898. He worked on the first gold dredge in the
country, known as the Ashburton, which was located on Sailor
Bar. After the San Francisco earthquake in 1906, he worked in
San Francisco as a carpenter. In 1910, he bought the first
automobile in Fair Oaks and used it in his Fair Oaks Stage Line
that ran from Fair Oaks to Sacramento. His wife, Gnettie, lies in
the plot immediately to his south.
