This long metal building is the Quonset Hut Theater, built about
1950 and lasting as a theater only until 1958.
The name "Quonset Hut" was used by the military in World War II
for this type of multi-use building. This one probably was
war surplus with the theater facade added on.
Movies were shown prior to this theater in the Community
Clubhouse. The building still exists as you can
see from the façade, but has been occupied by a
furniture maker and a terra cotta pot and patio
furniture extension of Racy’s Feed Store.
To the south was the Robinson Buffum building, torn
down in 1970 to make room for the ampitheater.
