During the Fair Oaks Fiesta, Saturday and Sunday, May 6 and 7, the Fair Oaks
Historical Society will display items from personal collections, according to
Dorothy Huggett, exhibit chair. Among these will be old trains and tin trucks, toy
cars, and tractors. Lovely dolls and carriages that delighted little girls will be on
show, as well as some early crafts, such as homemade quilts. You can see what
old-time school and general reading books were like, and early soap-making
equipment will give you a taste of times past. Laptop slideshows with early Fair
Oaks information will be running, too. The exhibit will be at the Old Library at
Temescal and California Sts., and will be open from 11am until 4 pm. For more
information call Lois Frazier at 967-2967.
