The Way it Was
"The Way it Was" was a book of recollections and research by the Fair Oaks Woman's Thursday
Club (established 1902) in 1976 and republished in 2008. It was designed in Word format and
has not easily translated into HTML. To get the document up on the website, we decided to
convert it to PDF format and put it up by individual chapters.
Conveniently, this makes the book text searchable. Many thanks to the Fair Oaks Woman's
Thursday Club for giving us permission to put it on the website.
